This theatrical film for the Berliner Ensemble is a “making-of” documentary about the play “Der Weg zurück” (original title: *The Regression*), which writer Dennis Kelly wrote for the BE. The play is about a movement that rejects progress, technology, and science. After all, these things have previously led humanity to the brink of the abyss and resulted in political and social injustice. The Regression opposes the exploitation of the earth, antibiotics, genetic engineering, and cell phone radiation. The most sacred good is ignorance.

In this theater video, director David Bösch takes viewers behind the scenes of a “technology graveyard” and talks about the production. Set and costume designers Patrick Bannwart and Falko Herold also share their thoughts and explain how they created the shadow film that is part of the set design. And dramaturg Sibylle Baschung asks: How did society get to this point, and how do we get out of it?
