We documented the ceremonial christening of the NCL NORDLAND in Hamburg with an event film—an outstanding occasion in the maritime world and a clear signal for the future of sustainable shipping. Representatives from MPC Container Ships, MPC Capital AG, and other partners gathered aboard the historic Cap San Diego to celebrate this moment together.
The NCL NORDLAND represents a major step forward in environmentally friendly shipping. With dual-fuel engines that can also run on methanol, a battery-backed energy storage system, shore power connections for emission-free port calls, and a potential emission reduction of up to 95 percent compared to conventional ships, the vessel sets new standards. As one of the world’s most modern and climate-friendly container ships, it exemplifies the technological transformation in the industry and represents a concrete step toward decarbonization.
