Renewable Energy: The Driving Force Behind Germany's Energy Transition

Renewable energy is the key to the energy transition, which represents a shift away from traditional energy production methods such as nuclear, coal, and natural gas power. Renewable energy refers to sustainable, clean methods such as solar, hydroelectric, and wind power. Following the Fukushima nuclear disaster in Japan in 2011, the CDU government led by former Chancellor Angela Merkel decided to phase out nuclear power in Germany by the end of 2022. On December 31, 2022, at the latest, the last three nuclear power plants in Germany—Isar 2, Emsland, and Neckarwestheim 2—will be taken offline.

Search for self-sufficient energy solutions for Germany

But how is this electricity shortfall being made up? Currently, this is being done in part with renewable energy sources. Above all, however, it is still being done with gas imported from abroad. The war in Ukraine is currently showing us just how fragile this form of energy production can be. The search for sustainable—and, above all, self-sufficient—alternatives for Germany is therefore intensifying rapidly.

Films for a Sustainable Future

Over the past few years, we have gained a wide range of experience with film projects related to the energy transition. These can include general promotional and image films, or films used to market investment opportunities in the renewable energy sector. The future of our planet concerns us all, and if we can contribute even a small part to a better world through our films, we are happy to do so with full conviction.

Promotional Video for KGAL: Focus on Sustainable Infrastructure

We produced this promotional video in 2020 for our long-standing client KGAL, an independent German investment and asset manager based in Grünwald that operates in the renewable energy, aviation, and real estate sectors. It explains the “Sustainable Infrastructure” business model, in which KGAL is a pioneer. Since the start of its involvement in 2003, KGAL has acquired approximately 130 photovoltaic plants, wind farms, and hydroelectric power plants for its clients both in Germany and abroad. The promotional video, which is aimed at institutional investors, presents the portfolio and investment strategy and offers a glimpse into future investment areas. To bring this to life, we captured stunning footage in Italy, Sweden, and Germany. See for yourself…

Hydropower in Canada: A promotional video for reconcept

Hydropower has been used to generate electricity for 130 years. The technology is well-established; the plants require little maintenance and have a long service life, and their operating costs are low. Hydropower is therefore the most widely used renewable energy source worldwide. Canada, in particular, offers excellent conditions for this. Canada is already the world’s third-largest producer of hydroelectric power. The Hamburg-based asset manager reconcept specializes in renewable energy plants. In June 2016, we traveled to Canada on behalf of reconcept to shoot a promotional video explaining how an investment in river hydroelectric power plants in Canada benefits investors in Germany and the people of Canada. We filmed in and around Vancouver.
